NCPA Research Fellowship in "Governance and Public Policy in a Globalizing Asia"
The Nanyang Centre for Public Administration (NCPA) at the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore invites applications for senior research fellowship for the Academic Year 2015/2016, to start from September 2016 or soon afterwards.
The main theme of research fellowship is on "Governance and Public Policy in a Globalizing Asia", with a focus on China and/or Southeast Asia (Singapore in particular).
Candidates must have a PhD in one of the relevant fields of public administration, public policy, Asian Studies, political science, and international political economy. Interdisciplinary and comparative approach to Asian governance in the context of globalization is particularly welcome. The ideal candidates must be effectively bilingual in English and Chinese.
The successful applicant will work closely with the Director of NCPA (Professor Liu Hong) and other research staff at NCPA as well as the School of Humanities and Social Sciences. He/she will also help coordinate NCPA's research activities within NTU (including Lien Legacy Fellowship Programmes) and with external partners.

Applicants must possess a doctoral degree and have a record of publications in major international journals. Candidates with teaching experiences will have an added advantage.
Applicants must state the research area for which they are applying for in the application form. They must demonstrate in their research plan how their expertise crosses different disciplines and relates to the research area they are applying for.
Successful candidates should ideally begin their fellowships in September 2016 or soon afterward, subject to mutual agreement. Applications must be submitted in one single document (Microsoft Word format) using the Personal Particulars Form (Research Positions).
The fellowship is two years' renewable, subject to performance review and budget availability.

The Research Fellow schemes offered by NCPA provides funding support to recent PhD graduates who demonstrate promise in research and teaching in their fields of study. By offering new scholars the opportunity to develop research publications, hone their teaching, and network with academics, the scheme serves as a bridge between the scholars' doctoral training and their entry into faculty or other relevant careers. The research fellows' involvement in independent research under the mentorship of experienced faculty not only enhances their training as independent investigators, but also contributes to the research profiles of NCPA.
The research fellowship is for two years' renewable, subject to satisfactory performance review and budget availability.
